These Terms of Use apply when you use Hint.

By using Hint, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Hint.

Hint is operated from Ontario, Canada. The product is focused on the United States.

The service

Hint is a free AI gift finder for the web at hintgifts.app and for iPhone. The iPhone app is coming soon.

You can tell Hint about a person, an occasion, and a budget. You can also provide optional details, such as a recipient name, relationship, screenshots, or links. Hint uses those inputs to suggest gift ideas.

Hint has no accounts and no sign-in.

Saved lists live only in your browser on your device. Clearing browser or site data removes them.

Shared lists are encoded in the link itself. Anyone with the link can see the list. Hint does not store shared lists on its servers.

No guarantees

Hint suggests gift ideas, but it does not guarantee that any suggestion will be suitable, available, correctly priced, or appreciated by the recipient.

Gift choices are personal. Use your own judgment before buying anything.

Hint shows price bands, such as “$25 to $50”, not exact prices. Prices and availability are on Amazon and may change.

Third-party retailers

Hint may link to Amazon. When you click through to Amazon, you leave Hint and use Amazon’s service.

Amazon’s own terms and privacy policy govern what happens after you click through, including purchases, returns, shipping, prices, availability, and any information you provide to Amazon.

Hint is not responsible for Amazon’s products, listings, prices, availability, policies, or service.

Affiliate disclosure

As an Amazon Associate, Hint earns from qualifying purchases.

Hint may earn a commission at no extra cost to you if you click an Amazon link and buy something.

Acceptable use

Use Hint only in a lawful and respectful way.

You must not abuse the service, scrape it, use automated access, bypass bot protection or rate limits, upload unlawful content, upload other people’s sensitive information, interfere with the service, or try to gain unauthorized access to any system or data.

Do not submit passwords, financial details, ID numbers, private messages, health details, or other people’s personal details.

Hint uses security tools, including Cloudflare Turnstile and rate limiting, to help protect the service and prevent abuse.

Intellectual property

Hint, including its design, text, features, and software, is protected by intellectual property laws.

You may use Hint for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or reverse engineer any part of Hint unless the law allows it or Hint gives you permission.

You are responsible for the information you submit to Hint. By submitting information, you allow Hint to use it to generate gift suggestions.

Disclaimer

Hint is provided “as is” and “as available.”

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hint makes no warranties or guarantees about the service, including that it will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, accurate, or available at any particular time.

AI-generated suggestions may be incomplete, inaccurate, or not suitable for a specific person.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hint will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill, or business interruption.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hint’s total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid Hint, if any.

Because Hint is free to use, that amount may be zero.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute will be brought in the courts of Ontario.

Children

Hint is for people 13 and older.

Hint is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their information.

If you are under 13, do not use Hint.

Changes to these terms

Hint may update these terms from time to time. The updated date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed.

By continuing to use Hint after the terms change, you agree to the updated terms.
